Green Day

Green day has come and gone. We are now taking care of our scrumptious vegetables, waiting with excitement for them to grow into excellent brain food!

We are all looking forward to the day when we can pick our broccoli and spinach and create a delicious snack food out of them!

What's happening in Room 5?!

Writing - We are learning how to write an information report this term! We will be writing about self-control as well as many different aspects about New Zealand! We will also be concentrating very hard on our independent writing goal! We are all so excited to work hard and achieve our goal!!

Reading - We are focusing on understanding what we are reading. To do this, we need to be able to retell the main parts of the story, think about what the characters are feeling, why they are doing the things they are doing and thinking about what we would do differently if we were in that situation.

Maths - At the moment we have been learning about how to record different information using different types of graphs. We are loving learning about statistics! For the last few weeks of the term we will be learning about fractions! We will learn how to share things equally into 1/2, 1/4, 1/3, 1/5 and 1/6!
